The purpose of additives are.........to increse the washing power of detergen...to give certain characteristics to detergens...
for your information the additives are Biological enzymes  ,Whitening agent , Fluorescence agent , Anticoagulant Phosphate compound , Stabiliser , Drying agent , Perfume..

Biological enzyme -react with the dirt that comes from a protein source
example-with the help of these enzyme, blood and sweat are easily washed away.this
is because blood and sweat contain protein
-the enzymes will digest the protein to form water soluble compound.

Whitening agent-Normally sodium perborated is used.this agent makes the clothes look white but prevents
                         coloured clothes from fading.

Fluorescence agent-it makes white clothes look whiter.it also makes washed clothes look more sparkling.

Anticoagulant-this prevents the washed-out dirt from sticking back to the clothes again.Sodium
                       carboxylmethyl cellulose normally used.

Phosphate compound-Sodium triphosphate is normally used.it helps to displace mud from the clothes.it
                                   also softens the water

Stabiliser-Normally alkyl monoethanolamide is used.this compound helps to reduse the amound of bubbles
formed.too many bubbles in the washing machine will make washing less effective.

Drying agent-Normally sodium sulphate and sodium silicate are used.this is to make sure that the
detergen  powder is always dry in its container.

Perfume-this will make the washed clothes amell nicer.
